Overview
Built for TAPS longitudinal survey analysis.
The Data Dashboard analyzes responses from the TAPS surveys and organizes results by section. Within each section, it displays histograms, summary statistics (mean, min, max), and open-ended text responses. More advanced analysis features are planned for future updates. You can view the analysis for a single timepoint or, if applicable, compare baseline and follow-up responses side-by-side. Surveys adhere to semantic versioning to ensure a valid comparison of responses across timepoints.

How it Works
Dashboard Workflow
Upload baseline
Start with a CSV of responses exported from the TAPS survey (e.g., student_long_v1.0.0 from January 2025).
Add follow-up
If you have data from a second timepoint, upload a follow-up survey CSV of the same survey version (e.g., student_long_v1.0.0 from January 2026).
Explore sections
Toggle between survey sections and inspect percentages, summary statistics, and open-ended responses.
Interpret change
Compare responses across timepoints.
FAQ
Dashboard FAQ
What are the "missing" responses?
"Missing" responses are survey questions for which a respondent didn't provide an answer. They are included in the total response count for the survey, but excluded from the question analysis.
How do I know if a difference is meaningful?
The dashboard is currently only intended to help see patterns, not determine statistical significance.
What conclusions can I draw from the comparison to communicate to my colleagues?
The data currently collected through the TAPS Google surveys is unlinkable at the person-level. Any shifts you observe in the comparison reflect aggregate changes in school-wide perceptions, not changes in a particular person's views over time.
What do I do if I'm having a problem with the dashboard or want to request a feature?
Please contact team@ssml.stanford.edu. Note that features are being added, including support for exporting an analysis report pdf.
